Your Melbourne Hot Air Ballooning Experience
Pre-Launch
Your pilot, Peter, will meet you at Sofi’s Lounge in the lobby of the Sofitel on Collins Street, 1.5 hrs prior to sunrise. At Sofi’s Lounge you can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee and a quick toilet break before hopping onto the bus and heading off to the launch site. The morning’s fun begins with the balloon’s inflation - watch as the balloon slowly comes to life growing into a 90-foot giant. A great chance to get your cameras out and take some photos, or relax and enjoy a very spectacular sight.
In-Flight
As they say in the classics, ‘up up and away!’ Your adventure begins with no motors and no noise - just release a rope and you're floating gently into the air. Moving with the wind is a calm and relaxing way to fly. Flying in a balloon over Melbourne has many magical moments, from Peter taking you low over the trees of the Botanical gardens and Yarra Bend Park to floating high above the city, enjoying spectacular views of the Dandenongs, Port Phillip Bay and Melbourne's surrounds. Truly an experience to be shared with loved ones… a morning you will never forget.
Post-Flight
With a gentle bump and a slide you have landed in one of Melbourne’s many parks, which provide excellent balloon landing sites.The excitement of the flight soon turns to one thought - breakfast. So, after packing up the balloon, we are back onto the bus and heading to Level 35 of the Sofitel for a luxurious champagne breakfast. A busy and exciting morning slows down as you sit back and relax, and the conversation all turns to the morning’s very special adventure as you enjoy your sumptuous breakfast.
