THE COMPANY

Picture This was founded in 1996 by Damian Crock.

Paul Gibbs has been a director since 2005.

Over the past decade Picture This has established a unique reputation in the hot air ballooning industry in Australia.

Originally set up to market and sell promotional aviation and media relations services, particularly focused on the medium of special shape hot air balloons, the company rapidly developed a reputation for outstanding design, operational and promotional excellence in hot air ballooning.

We started life with a single special shape hot air balloon - Australia's now famous Flying Sherrin Footy.

Many special shapes and standard shape balloons followed including:

The Liberty Financial Flying Houses (the first built in 1999 and the second in 2001)

The Mike Wozowski (from MONSTERS Inc) for Walt Disney Home Entertainment

The NUDIE for NUDIE JUICE and in 2007 , The World's First Carbon Neutral Energy Hot Air Ballooning Project, The AGL Sustainable Energy Special Shape Light Globe pictured over Brisbane for its world launch.

The signature media events featuring flights over Sydney Harbour for Liberty and NUDIE have become legendary and the imagery - both stills and live action footage have been seen or published in over 70 countries worldwide.

Our first passenger ballooning contract was secured in 1997 - with MOTOROLA.

Over the next 8 years we flew MOTOROLA over Melbourne in concert with Global Ballooning, then part owner of Picture This.

In 2007 we launched a new part of the business - passenger hot air ballooning over Melbourne and its suburbs in our own right. Picture This is now setting a new benchmark in Melbourne's thriving hot air ballooning industry.

Directors and Shareholders:

Damian Crock - Founder, Managing Director. (VIC)

A Pracitising Australian Lawyer, with 15 years experience in special event design and production, film and video production. Damian has had an interest in the medium since the early 1990's - has managed contracts for Sherrin, Motorola, Liberty Financial, Disney/PIXAR, NUDIE, Regional Radio Bureau and AGL.

Paul Gibbs - Director - Professional Photographic Finisher - Owner Photocentric (NSW)

3 times and current Australian National Hot Air Ballooning Champion and former Bronze Medallist (3^rd place) at the 2004 NUDIE World Hot Air Ballooning Championships. Chairman of Canberra International Balloon Fiesta - Largest and only international ballooning event in Australia. Selected 8 times to represent Australia at world level, Paul has been flying internationally for over 20 years. His contribution to hot air ballooning and his professional reputation are second to none in Australia.

Peter Wright - Chief Pilot

Peter has been a major player in the Melbourne and Australian hot air ballooning industry for over 10 years and is one of the most experienced aviators over Melbourne. Our Chief Pilot since 2004, Peter is responsible for Picture This spotless safety record. Like all of the Picture This team, international experience has been a feature of his career, as he has flown in Asia and North America.

Denise Smythe - Project Manager

The backbone of the operation, Denise has been with Picture This since 2001.

Apart from the national and international touring aspects of our special shape and promotional ballooning teams, Denise has also been the Balloon Team Manager for the NOVOTEL Balloon Fiesta Australia, the largest ballooning festival in Australia.

Dean Pegg - NSW Crew Chief

Dean has been a part of the Picture This team since its inception. Touring hot air balloons is in his blood. There is virtually no corner of Australia that Deano has not seen.

His dedication to the challenge of meeting and exceeding the customer's expectations is peerless. Looking after pilot and fellow crew members is always top of his list to make that goal possible. Deano typifies the spirit of Picture This................addicted to ballooning.

Steve Buckley - VIC Crew Chief

With a strong background in tourism operations, Steve is the newest member of the Picture This team and has been behind the establishment of our new passenger operation over Melbourne.

Steve's insight into the customer experience is an invaluable asset to Picture This.
